(Photo by Bill Stockland) center_img  MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The top-seeded University of West Florida women’s tennis team defeated the No. 8 seed Christian Brothers 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament on Thursday afternoon. West Florida (21-4, 9-0 GSC) wins its 12th consecutive match and advances to the GSC tennis tournament semifinals.The No. 5-ranked doubles team of Monika Kochanova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and Laure-Eline Faure (Toulouse, France) won 8-0 at number one doubles while Katarina Dikosavljevic (Queensland, Australia) and Francesca Fanchin (New York, N.Y.) won 8-0 at number two doubles.Nina Bubelova (Považská Bystrica, Slovakia) and Fernanda Amaral (Curitiba, Brazil) won by default at number three doubles.Amaral won by default at number six singles while Sarai Flores (Mexico City, Mexico) won at number six singles by default.West Florida will look for its fourth consecutive Gulf South Conference championship this weekend in Montgomery, Ala. The West Florida women’s tennis program has won 13 GSC titles, the most conference titles by any program at UWF.UWF will face No. 5 seed Alabama Huntsville in the semifinals on Friday, April 18 at 9 a.m. CT.
